About his foundationJamal Crawford's biggest dream came true almost 14 years ago. Since that time, he has dedicated himself to making sure that he gives back to all those who helped him become the NBA player that he is today. He gives back to various communities through the Jamal Crawford Foundation which strives to provide inner-city children with experiences and activities that will strengthen their minds and bodies and mold them into well-rounded adults. The foundation is concentrated in Jamal's birthplace of Seattle, Washington but it has extended itself throughout the years to the various communities where Jamal has played: Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Portland, and Los Angeles.

While playing in New York, Jamal gave P.S. 58 a brand new library and served as principal for a day. In Seattle, he donated a basketball court to Rainier Beach High School - the very school he attended as a teenager and he happily provided defibrillators to local schools in Seattle. Recently he has begun raising money to employ athletic trainers at all Seattle-area public schools. He holds basketball camps every summer and hosts the Jamal Crawford Pro-Am Summer League which showcases the best professional and hidden basketball in a relaxed and intimate environment. Every holiday season he holds his annual Christmas Giving Tree for inner-city children.
